Are Implant Threads Important for Implant Stability? An In Vitro Study Using Low-Density Polyurethane Sheets

چکیده

Different strategies are known to improve implant primary stability (PS) and the bone-to-implant contact in post-extractive conditions, such as macro-geometry of screws apical threads, which can enhance mechanical characteristics. In any case, role area design maintaining or improving PS, especially low-quality bone, still remains unclear. Thus, present study aimed at evaluating vitro Insertion Torque (IT), Removal (RT), Resonance Frequency Analysis (RFA) different threads a cylindrical (EE) three conical implants (T3, TAC, Intra-lock) inserted simulated post-extraction conditions on low-density polyurethane foams 10 20 pounds per cubic foot (PCF), with without addition cortical sheet 30 PCF density. The IT, RT, RFA values all tested were directly proportional density presence sheet, but TAC Intra-lock implants, had latest-generation thread design, always showed significantly higher (e.g., IT: 18.6 Ncm, RT: 10.8 13.7 mean: 46 43 ISQ, for Intra-lock, respectively). particular, also reached highest lowest-density foam (19 ISQ). conclusion, demonstrated that designs macro-geometries could play key determining PS polyurethane-implant artificial bone.

Does Countersinking Improve Implant Primary Stability in Low Density Bone?

ABSTRACT In order to evaluate the effect of countersinking on dental implants primary stability installed in low density bones, thirty dental implants were installed in the most proximal region of oxen ribs and grouped as follow: Group1: Fifteen implants installed by standard drilling with countersinking, Group2: Fifteen implants installed by standard drilling without countersinking. The gradua...

Influence of bone density on implant stability parameters and implant success: a retrospective clinical study

BACKGROUND The aim of the present clinical study was to determine the local bone density in dental implant recipient sites using computerized tomography (CT) and to investigate the influence of local bone density on implant stability parameters and implant success. METHODS A total of 300 implants were placed in 111 patients between 2003 and 2005. The bone density in each implant recipient sit...

Comparison of Implant Stability in Sinus Lift Surgery Using Autogenous Versus Allogeneic Bone Grafts

Background and aim: The most common method of increasing implant stability in the posterior maxilla comprises the reinforcement of bone height using bone grafts in sinus lift surgery. The purpose of the present study was to compare autogenous and allogeneic bone grafts in implant stability after open sinus lift surgery. Materials and methods: This split-mouth clinical trial compared the implant...
